FATMBL Best tech death album I've heard in a while and hope that they will continue in that direction in the future 😎

yourmetalfriend Shotgun blasts of vicious, groovy death metal litter this album throughout its very short run-time. I usually like longer songs so that I can marinate myself in all of their gruesome savagery, but Crypteria do a fantastic job of creating 1-3 minute, memorable bangers with no extra time wasted. Favorite track: Medusa's Gaze.
Lagerbottoms
Lagerbottoms thumbnail
Lagerbottoms These wonderful people took technically impressive Death Metal and simply put tons of fun back into the mix. This shit rips! Favorite track: Mechanized Insurgency.
Addison

Addison With many other tech death releases, I find myself sifting through the bulk of blastbeats and riffs to find the few short parts which really excite me.

Crypteria are different. I don't know how or why, but it's as if they know exactly what I want to hear. Every second of this album is fun to listen to. It's groovy, brutal, and not lacking in lyrical inspiration either. Favorite track: Graftings.

Dionysian 02:13
Dionysian Losing our lives through dreaming- Escaping both good and bad. Oblivious apathy ending in emptiness, unrealized actual life. Living for dreams unending- Actualized true self Routinely growing in power and true self-confidence. Opaque blue smoke Streaming away from us; Enlightenment dawns, Surreal contentment then.... No way to think of leaving- Transcendent world, sacred land The heart leaves untilled, Innermost sanctity. Perpetual search for meaning- The gift of innocence. Our lives’ thirst: Dionysian. Opaque blue smoke Absorbed into changing forms. Out of phase goals Come into re-focus. For life grateful- Mind expands, energized. A radiant hope- Dreams etherealized. Burning through the night, Cauterizing pain. Coded symbols deciphered, Rays of clarity. Answering call to life, Affirmation- Echoing in haze. Endless cycle returns- Ironic mirror Reflecting memories. Foreseen- Successive chain of causation Fulfills destiny. Once chance To break the hold Of fate’s prison- Freedom through escape. No chance to think of leaving The inner world, sacred land. Living for dreams unending- The gift of life, Dionysian.
2.
Samsara 03:06
Deep down into our lungs at every breathing An unseen river flows. In the stream your eye unfolds Infinite dreams, drowning in oblivion, Slowly being destroyed- The spirit in your eye fading with the sky. Falling down empty, moving toward the ending That nothing could have saved. The times that passed before will never return. All alone in this world you know you’re running Down these same old streets again; Didn’t know what it’d take to find you. The empty pain comes alive, you fall and suffer, Pinned down in this dismal place- No one cares and no one knows. One day you’ll fall down alone, Finally immersed in the unknown- You’ll never see this world again.
3.
Loss 02:00
Loss: the numbness inside. Hope: delusions of pride. Alone: life’s lessons are hard. Gone: the vision was wrong. Coming to grips with intense grief, The struggle inside. Forlorn, impalpable void, Crying out for life. Reaching out, invisible hand Drawn close, never seen. Returned to earth yet cherished in memory, Shadow of a dream. Detached, yet under tremendous strain, Resisting that this is the end of it; Fortified, logical core Not yet breached by desire. Even if we somehow could learn to see Sorrows lying in wait, regardless, We’re sentenced to grieve, helpless, A thousand times more. Frustration overwhelming, Going under, craving meaning. One thing's certain: It won't be the last time What we love is taken away from us.
4.
Seductive entrancing form Beckons with its gaze; Gently leading on, Reeking of decay. - Surreal desolation. Darkened, faded eyes Stare on, undisturbed. Sinking further into isolation, Endless dream unfolds. Self-destructive hallucination, Blindly stumbling on. The husk she couldn’t burn; Human turned to urn. In deep- Parasitic infestation; Ruthless intent exposed. Entrenched, the creature feeds its craving lust By consuming other living forms. What is the meaning of this? Not what it seems. One chance To free the heart from enslavement; Petrifying awe. Too late, The realization all is lost, The hopeless longing to return. Those sunken reflections won't surface- All thinking is numbed. It’s gone, All hollow, That future destroyed. Charmed by the snakes, Hypnotized by their stare. Drawn in to her tricks Again one last time.
5.
Telling lies to cause wonder: One of the oldest pastimes of mankind. Try to distract the mind from thinking Too deeply about the cares that weigh us down. Recounting marvelous tales and strange delusions- Unlimited thirst for fantasy- Disbelieving the facts they see In exchange for an exhausted false reality. Impelled on by groundless hope Naively expressed as evidence; Astonished listeners re-tell fanciful legends- Might as well be fairy tales of little girls Staring out to Neverland- Textual distortion in their hands. A false translation misunderstood: Echoes of corrupted text. Staring into the sun, Focused on the need for meaning. Dreaming yet not asleep... Mind seared by false teachings. The wisps of dreams from another world. Steeped in delusion, Weighing their lives down. What can’t be proven lacks claim to truth. Steeped in delusion- entrancing sacred ruse! Ignore their claims that contradict reason: Guard and revere respect for truth. Zealots emboldened to say That by their faith alone The words in doubt are proven true, When they can't even understand the language The ancient texts were written in. Well-intentioned, and yet misled; Platonic passed off as Christian. What’s in a vision is not really true: A figment of imaginings, Symbolic but not real. (Reciting vague words As if they had deep meaning.) Unknown: the text Originally written by the men. Foundational concepts redefined. A clever ancient lie Shrewdly misinterred: Echoes of corrupted text.

Scorned 04:03
Scorned- Thoughts like water in a cracked glass, Leaked out, seeping through cracks in the floor. Plunging into the void; Created to be destroyed. Eyes are closed, sight wide open- Trying to fight the weight of conscience. Siphoning out all life One shriveled husk at a time. On hideous display for all to see, Carried out by the vultures, the scavengers; The bottom-feeders Just like dogs, lapping it up. Consuming, controlling- The center of it all has fallen apart. Falling through the fingers, Exhausted and used up. The mere thought excruciating, Mutating once good intentions; Excoriated, emaciated, abandoned, laid to waste.
7.
The attention they crave; Anxiety’s slave; Self-contradicted. The surface of things All that they see. Petulant, fake! Repressed emotion, intense self-devotion, perverse damaged mind. The craving inside, buried alive in self-hate. Innocence vanished when life’s gleam extinguished- dark soulless eyes. The once caring mind blinded by vain selfish aims. Forsaken by friends; Abandoned to chance; Prey to strangers. The same old mistakes. No sense of restraint. When will it end? Empty from boredom and careless compulsion, intolerably vain. Labyrinth of error, internally drowning, despair. Scorched earth the path after dreams turned to ash- unbearable pain. Illusive dreams choked, dreaming a way to escape... But only dreaming! They’ve learned to forget, Dismissing the past with unconcern. Luring us in... Immersed in emptiness.
8.
Indifferent 01:57
Mask of false smiles, Nearly all were beguiled by those charming lies. But the veneer fell away, Learned not too late, Exposing the soulless void. Sifting through remnants of obscure intentions, Conscience mysteriously vanished. No signs of affection, Seductively barren- Friendless for good reason. (Keep dreaming ‘cause) Indifferent, You act and pretend But we see you clear. Burned again, Conned and drawn in by Insincere fatuous lies. (So sick of your lies) No sense of fairness or concept of justice, Merciless self-adoration. Years of mistakes Etched in the face, Incisions from past degradation. Let’s not pretend, Plaything of men: Those vain delusions will turn to poison. Try to forget The warmth that left- A life defined by disappointment.
9.
Ballistic attack, hailing down warfare, relentless.... Streets are strewn with bodies of the fallen. Coward, terrorist threat, crawl out of your hole: It’s time to man up and face the man. Erased from the map- a crater of sand- Turn that desert into glass. Strapping your child with explosive devices, Charging them into the fray. Coward, terrorist threat, crawl out of your hole: It’s time to man up and face the man. Foxhole, ambush, tripwire, Land mine, car bomb.... Your fate: a grenade in your mouth. Brothers witness brothers lose life and limb While people back home spew criticism. Civilians revolt- The anti-aircraft, it thunders, Surrounded with spent shells. Ears deafened by blasts From mortar bursts- Prepare for complete decimation. They attack our troops with IEDs; The slate will now be wiped clean. They’re all cut-throats; Nerve gas blowing in the wind. Now we have the whole free world Waiting for the day we see That pitiful existence rejected and obsolete.
10.
Nemesis 01:33
Pointlessness exposed; poisonous waste of life. Sick and depraved, in constant denial. It’s your own grave you dig. Why can’t you learn? Narcotic-corrupted mind. All bridges burned, line after line. Those dreams are destroyed: you failed. Lost in the fantasies of your desires, Daydreaming lies of success While life signifies otherwise- Justice of Nemesis.
11.
Dim the Sky 02:42
Dim out the sky with grains of dirt, Opening doors to reveal Humanity’s creature inner being. Brought with me clenched fists- Untaken by gods- Pleading with martyrs as they Sharpen their mandibles. Gnarled hands show the way. They rob you of breath- Asphyxiation. Total and final annihilation; Infliction of obliteration Deeper than Earth’s core, I step out of my body; Healed until it stings, Revealing the splendor. And we see all living things designed to suffer, No escape from this life. But never submit- We must conquer.
12.
Graftings 03:42
Shards of splintered hope Peeling off in layers, Each one a little less decayed Than the one before. Brought about by withered conclusions, Grasping for anything. Just been rendered useless: A former human being Staring into a face with no expression Forever consumed with hubris- Hollow mind, but the rest is perfect. It chews at the very fabric that binds our existence- Chewing away, Gnawing away.
